Anantnag, 14 May 2023,(KAT) : An Encounter breaks out between militants and security forces in Andwan Sagam area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Sunday morning.
Reports reaching—(Kashmir Abb Tak) that joint team of police, Army & CRPF acting on inputs about the presence of some militants launched cordon and search operation at Andwan Sagam.
Confirming the incident, a police officer also told that soon after the search party fired some shots towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire.
The officer said that the fire was retaliated triggering off an exchange of fire.
As per reports two to three militants believed to be enganged in a gunfight, the officer said.
When reports last came in the intermittent exchange of firing was going on—(KAT)
