Most parts of Jammu and Kashmir have received moderate rainfall during the night and early morning hours.
Currently, rain/snow activities have stopped at most places as the system has moved in east direction.
Today, mostly cloudy weather is expected with chances of light/moderate rain showers at a few places, however, nothing major is expected.
Towards evening/night, rain/snow activities will again pick up and can result in moderate rain/snow showers at many places. Intensity of the system will be maximum over north Kashmir, particularly over Bandipora and Kupwara districts.
Snow chances for plains:
Shopian = 20% (as precipitation intensity over the area may be less so snow may not occur. Positive news for orchardists)
Kupwara, Baramulla = 20% (Only rains may occur as temperatures have stayed high)
Other plains = 5-10%.
Snow chances are less as temperatures aren't favorable for snow to occur in plains. But more rain showers are on the cards.
Showers are expected at some places in Jammu till tomorrow, though no major rainfall is expected.
In Kargil district, some rain/snow showers can occur till tomorrow evening, however nothing significant is expected. In Leh, light snow shower is possible at a few places.
Another Western Disturbance is expected on 09-10 November that can cause rain/snow activities (light/moderate) at many places, particularly of 10 November.
