Civilian & ASI Policeman shot death by Militants on yesterday in Srinagar and Anantnag


 Srinagar, 23 December 2021,(KAT) Suspected Militants fired at a civilian and an Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police on yesterday in two separate attacks in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday evening. Both of them have succumbed to their injuries.


CVILIAN SHOT IN EIDGAH SRINAGAR.


In Eidgah area of Srinagar, Militants fired at a 45-year-old man named Rouf Ahmad Khan on Wednesday. A resident of Nawakadal locality of the city, Rouf Ahmad Khan was shifted to SMHS Hospital after the attack. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.


"At about 5.55 pm,  fired at and critically injured a civilian, namely Rouf Ahmad," a police official said.


The man who was shot was reportedly an ex-terrorist.


The area has been cordoned off, a case registered and a hunt launched to nab the attackers, the police said.


            ASI SHOT IN ANANTNAG


An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Jammu and Kashmir Police was shot in Bijbehara in Anantnag district of the union Militants. The ASI, Mohammad Ashraf, was taken to Bijbehara Hospital, where he was referred to a medical facility in Srinagar. He has succumbed to his injuries.


The area has been cordoned off and an investigation launched.


The Anantnag attack occurred less than an hour after the shooting incident in Srinagar on Wednesday.
