Oral Health Specialists performing Covid duties at the mercy of God : SDSJK
Slams authorities for callous approach towards accomodation
Srinagar: Society of Dental Surgeons ,J&K ( SDSJK) has slammed the insensitive approach shown by administrators towards all those oral health specialists who are working as frontline workers in tackling Covid Crisis.
Dr Imtyaz Banday ,President SDSJK said that at various health institutes our colleagues in these hours of difficult situation, after undergoing training as per Covid guidelines have been performing duties in sample collection, screening,
Quarantine,Surveillance Teams & backend.
But unfortunately the administrators have turned deaf ear to the request of all dental surgeons who along with other medical officers are working at frontline thereby risking their lives and that of their families.
Dr Adil Wani ,Spokesperson SDSJK said that we are aghast about the incompetency of authorities & administrators for not providing proper official accomodation to such frontline workers who after in touch with Covid positive / suspects are told to go home.
Dr Bilal Beigh Publicity Secretary said that it is utter shame on part of authorities to act like mute wherein the poor dental surgeon becomes helpless & a source of infection & threat for their families especially the elderlies.
Dental Surgeons being Oral Health Specialists are playing an important role in tackling Covid Crisis but the callous and inefficient behavior shown by the authorities have led the medicos in a state of fix.
SDSJK stresses the higher authorities to intervene in this grave burning issue and resolve it at the earliest or else there is no other way but to opt out till Covid SOPs issued by Government of India regarding accomodation of health care workers are not being implemented in letter & Spirit.
